The world offers a wide range of possibilities. What better way to start discovering the World Heritage Cities, which reflect the diversity and beauty of our planet? The international network of "Hostels of World Heritage Cities", which has its offices in Québec, contributes to this discovery. Indeed, by facilitating accommodation, hostels promote encounters with and knowledge of other cultures.

Québec City, celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2008, will welcome members of the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO. I encourage young people to participate in numerous activities planned as part of the 400th anniversary, and enjoy with the thousands of visitors all the riches and beauty of Québec, which members of the Committee designated a World Heritage City.
